A Research Program on Emotions in the Middle Ages

The question of the theories and practices associated with emotion, albeit crucial to the understanding of human societies and their organization, is virtually uncharted territory for historical anthropology. The aim of the research team gathered around project EMMA is to investigate various sources to show the relevance of a historical anthropology of emotions and affective phenomena applied to the Middle Ages.
